Liverpool Fashion Summit and Freedom Row are looking for an illustrator to bring their children’s book to life.
The book is about a six-year-old multiracial girl called Anya who goes into a magical vending machine. The book promotes ethical consumption and provides parents, teachers and kids with a resource to learn about modern slavery, in an impactful, positive, and child-centred way.

Competition details
- Deadline: 31 March 2021
- To enter, submit a sample design for this excerpt of the book and complete this online form
- The judging criteria are: quality, technique and thematic relevance.
- The winners will be announced by 10 April 2021
Submission guidelines
- This competition is open worldwide to all professionals and enthusiasts alike
- Illustrations must be in PNG, JPG or PDFs only
- Dimensions 10″x12.15″ (including 1/4″ bleed and a safe zone)
- Multiples entries are allowed
- All works should be original and owned by you in entirety
- Plagiarism will not be tolerated
Prize
- The winner will receive £250 in prize money and appointment as main illustrator on the book. The competition organisers therefore only encourage submissions from those interested in collaborating on end-to-end illustrations for the book.
- As this book is subject to funding, the winner may or may not receive monetary return for the complete illustration of the book. Illustrator will be accredited accordingly.
