First year Charlotte Fisher shares her top tips on how you can celebrate Pride this June.

Rainbow-tastic makeup and accessories
This Pride month the sun is out in Liverpool (for now!) and that means it is the perfect opportunity to show off your rainbow inspired expressions in any way possible.
One idea you can take part in this June is rainbow LOVE IS LOVE themed makeup looks. Not only do you look absolutely fabulous, but you are spreading acceptance, love and showing your alliance/position in the LGBTQ+ community!
Here is a tutorial I love from NikkieTutorials:
-
Hold your own mini Pride parade
This year’s Liverpool Pride is going to be an online event, which is taking place on Saturday 31 July 2021, instead of the usual annual parade.
If you want to do something in person though, and the latest government cornonavirus restrictions allow, you and your friends could hold a little garden party with a Pride theme.
Dress in your brightest colours and stream music from your favourite LGBTQ+ artists. This is a perfect opportunity to be surrounded by likeminded believers that LOVE IS LOVE and can be a celebration of acceptance of all things beautiful.
We’ve created a Pride-themed video chat background you can use on Teams or Zoom. Give it a go.
3. Social media support
Social media is an amazing platform for members of the LGBTQ+ community and allies alike to show their support and acceptance for the freedom to love unapologetically! I particularly like these three Instagram accounts:
- @adameli
- @ellessechar
- @florencegiven
-
Support small LGBTQ+ businesses and Donate
This Pride month, you could actively support small LGBTQ+ businesses or donate to Pride organisations. Some I like are:
- @thewardr0be
- @qpocproject
- @licxboutique
-
Have a pride themed movie night
Some films I would suggest would be:
- Pride (2014)
- Can you ever forgive me? (2018)
- Carol (2015)
- Love, Simon (2018)
