Important Information: Resits and Retakes

Students have been emailed today (27 July) with some important information about resits and retakes. Make sure you read through the detail for advice about what to do if you have been notified of the need to resit or the opportunity to retake either by your academic department, or in the results portal.

A resit is applicable where an assessment or module has been failed and a student has to take an assessment again for progression or classification purposes.

Key information:

FINAL YEAR STUDENTS ONLY: resits of failed assessments to achieve a classified honours degree without accepted Extenuating Circumstances, must take place at the next ordinary sitting (i.e. January/February or May/June 2022), as indicated in the Code of Practice on Assessment, Appendices I and J.

Please also read our FAQ pages, which contain more detailed information about resits and retakes, how to tell if you have missing marks remaining, and your next steps to inform us of your resit and retake intentions, before contacting your School Support Office with any additional queries.

You can watch our instructional video for further guidance on how to interpret the data in your results portal.
