Obituary: Moeez Masroor Subhani

Words by Chris Kypridemos, Department of Public Health, Policy and Systems

The University is saddened to learn the passing of Moeez Masroor Subhani and his wife, Aimen Rafiq Khan, passed away on August 12 in a tragic traffic accident.

Mooez joined the Department of Public Health, Policy and Systems in January 2021, working closely with Chris Kypridemos in the NCD prevention and food policy group.

Moeez was an intelligent, capable, diligent and valuable colleague. But above all, he was a warm, kind and gentle soul.

His love for data science and his enthusiasm to further use and develop his skills in improving health through research were embodied in his diligent work and his interactions with the team, despite the challenges imposed by joining a new post in a new group and  University during the pandemic.

Moeez will be greatly missed, and his death saddens everyone in our Department.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and his family and friends during this difficult time.

To honour Moeez and Aimen memory colleagues have setup a collection to donate to Brake, a road safety charity that supports victims of road accidents and their families: https://www.gofundme.com/f/in-memory-of-Moeez-M-Subhani-Aimen-Rafiq-Khan.
