A recording is now available of this week’s Staff Open Meeting, held on Monday, 20 September.
For this meeting, Professor Sir Munir Pirmohamed shared his experience of the pandemic in the context of his role as Chair of the Commission on Human Medicines (CHM) and Chair of the CHM’s COVID-19 Vaccines Benefit Risk Expert Working Group. Munir, who holds the David Weatherall Chair of Medicine and is also Director of the Medical Research Council Centre for Drug Safety Science and the Wolfson Centre for Personalised Medicine at the University, discussed the role of independent expert advisory groups such as the CHM, and highlighted how expertise at Liverpool is being utilised by Government at this unprecedented time.
Dr Paul Redmond, Director of Student Experience and Enhancement, shared details of our exciting ‘Liverpool Welcome’ for all students, whether they are returning or joining us for the first time in September, and discussed what we have learned from student feedback in the recent National Student Survey.
Steve Dunkley, University Safety Adviser, outlined the health and safety measures we have in place for staff returning to campus and the Vice-Chancellor also provided an update on our advancing plans for hybrid working for Professional Services colleagues.
