As part of the University of Liverpool’s award-winning partnership with Tate Liverpool we are proud to be supporting the first UK retrospective of Glasgow-born, Brussels-based artist Lucy McKenzie (b. 1977).

This exhibition brings together over 80 works dating from 1997 to the present. You can enjoy large-scale architectural paintings, illusionistic trompe l’oeil works, as well as fashion and design. It highlights themes that have interested the artist throughout her career such as the iconography of international sport, the representation of women, gender politics, music subcultures and post-war muralism.
To showcase our commitment to creating an environment where people can challenge preconceived ideas about culture, art and academia. We will be exploring Lucy’s work in an innovative way by co-creating activities where staff and students get the opportunity to participate creatively and interactively on a different level, through unique events, talks and tours. This is an exciting opportunity to educate, collaborate and engage public audiences with our cutting-edge interdisciplinary research.
