Meet the Scientists: apply to share your research with local families

World Museum

‘Meet the Scientists’ is returning for 2022 and researchers at postgraduate level and above are invited to apply to take part.

If you would like to share your research with a family audience through hands-on activities and experiments at a Meet the Scientists day at Liverpool’s World Museum in March, you can find more information and download an application form here.

To join the Meet the Scientists team for an online information event tomorrow, Thursday 10th February, register via Eventbrite here.

The events take place on the following dates:

  • Saturday 19th March 2022 – Brilliant Bodies & Marvellous Minds
  • Saturday 18th June 2022 – Worlds of Wonder

No experience is necessary and organisers are happy to work with you to develop activity ideas or provide full information for general volunteers. Meet the Scientists is making a return to in-person events for 2022, but the team will be mindful of any restrictions and will work with those taking part to minimise risks where possible.

The team can offer you support with developing your activity, budget to buy resources, tips and advice on engaging a family audience, overall event organisation – you just need to turn up with your activity on the day. And they’ll even buy you lunch!

There are two ways you can be involved:

  • Run an activity about your research; this can be a brand new activity or one that you’ve run at another event, you can run this by yourself or with other people from your research group
  • Help out with the general running of the event on the day

You can contact the Meet the Scientists team via email with any questions on:  hlsengage@liverpool.ac.uk
