3 volunteering opportunities you can get involved with today

Volunteering is a great way to enhance your CV, make friends, and boost your personal skills, whilst also giving something back to the wider community.

The Guild has teamed up with organisations across the region to offer a host of ways to volunteer, here are just three of the many organisations you can get involved with:

Fundraising for Guide Dogs

In this role, you will assist your local fundraising team in promoting and taking part in a variety of activities to raise money for Guide Dogs. This could include helping on stalls at local event, taking collection boxes to local businesses, attending local events organised by the team and counting donations. By volunteering, you will be helping Guide Dogs to support individuals with a visual impairment to live independently, confidently and to live a life they choose.

Fundraising Events Volunteer – North West Air Ambulance Charity

Since 1999 the North West Air Ambulance Charity has provided the rapid pre-hospital care needed to make a life changing difference. They operate three helicopters and one Rapid Response Vehicle and fly 365 days a year with doctors and paramedics on board providing emergency medical treatment when time is critical. Fundraising Event Volunteers help support and represent the charity as they raise vital funds and awareness for their service. The charity has a number of upcoming events, and is offering the opportunity to volunteer at a single event as a ‘one off’ taster to see if it’s for you, or alternatively you can sign up fully to volunteer at events on an ongoing basis.

Charity Volunteer – Secret Gardens of Oxton

Stick ‘n’ Step, a charity that enables, inspires and supports children with cerebral palsy and their families, has been chosen as a ‘Secret Gardens of Oxton’ charity partner. This event sees residents of Oxton, Wirral open up their wonderful private gardens for people to look around. In recent years, the charity partners have received £5,000 from the proceeds of the event. The organisers are seeking 50 volunteers to help run the day.
