Supporting local charities: Young Person’s Advisory Service

YPAS

Every year the University of Liverpool donates £1 to charity for every one of our students who complete the National Student Survey.

This year we are supporting the Liverpool-based charity, Young Person’s Advisory Service.

Providing mental health and wellbeing services for children, young people and families

Serving a population of over 150,000 children and young people, the Young Person’s Advisory Service, or YPAS, offers a range of support, wellbeing and therapeutic services for children, young people and families in Liverpool.

Established in 1966, the charity helps families in the city region to address their mental health and emotional wellbeing difficulties, delivering services through schools, GP surgeries, clinical networks, and citywide community organisations. The charity also runs three dedicated YPAS community hubs in Liverpool city centre, Croxdale Road West in the North of the city, and Lyndene Road in the South of the city.

In 2021 YPAS reached more than 9,576 children, young people, parents and families and provided more than 49,000 sessions of therapy and support.

Show your support

If you are a final year undergraduate student at the University you can help us to support young people in our city region by completing the National Student Survey. It’s quick and easy to do and for each student who takes part we will donate to YPAS on your behalf.

What is the National Student Survey?

The National Student Survey is an annual UK survey of final year undergraduate students. It is commissioned by the Office for Students (OfS) and administered by independent research agency Ipsos MORI.  The survey is part of a quality assurance system to generate more detailed information about teaching quality.

The results and feedback help universities to make changes and improvements, as well as giving prospective students information which can help them decide where and what to study.

Whether you think your time at the University of Liverpool has been great, or you think some of it could have been better, this is your chance to give your honest view and make a difference. For more information about the NSS, please visit our feedback webpages.
