The University of Liverpool Design Your Future Pitching Competition supports enterprising and entrepreneurial students and recent graduates by offering the chance to win financial support for innovative projects, or to help to fund and develop a business idea.
The winner of the competition will receive £4,000, with prizes of £2,000 and £1,000 for second and third place. There are also 6 £500 awards for runners up.
How do I apply for the competition?
To apply, you can complete your Handshake journey by clicking here.
You will need to:
- Register through the Santander X platform
- Complete the online application form
- Submit a Digital Pre-recorded pitch (6-minute limit)
- If shortlisted, attend and deliver a 3-minute elevator pitch
Applications will close at midnight on 25th March 2022.

If you are shortlisted, you will be required to pitch live at an event on the 27th April 2022.
When completing your application please consider the following:
- How funding could support your business?
- What impact will your idea/proposal have?
- Who will benefit from your idea/proposal?
- Keep the pitch under 6 minutes in length, if you go over this time, your pitch will not be considered
What happens after I apply?
The panel will review all applications and will be in touch to advise you on the outcome. If your application is successful, you will be asked to pitch your idea to a panel of judges.
