Guild award winners celebrated

Students and staff alike were celebrated at this year’s Guild Awards, which took place in the Mountford Hall on 10 May.

The awards recognise individuals, groups and societies who have gone above and beyond to make our University campus and community a better place to be.

The winners of this year’s Guild Awards are:

Outstanding contribution to the COVID-19 pandemic

Awarded to an individual or group who has gone above and beyond to positively impact their community during this extraordinary time.

Inclusivity award

Awarded to an individual or group who has ensured that students feel they belong and find their place in our diverse and inclusive community.

Course rep of the year

Awarded to a Course Rep from each faculty for going the extra mile to improve your University experience.

Teacher of the year

Awarded to a member of teaching staff from each faculty for going the extra mile to make support students and improve your University experience.

Outstanding support award

Awarded to any member of University staff, who goes beyond their job role to make your University experience better.

Student change-maker of the year

This special award for this year recognises a group or individual who have created positive change for students this year, making the University of Liverpool a better place.

Sustainability champion

Awarded to a student who is a true sustainability hero; an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to sustainability on campus and beyond. The Sustainability Champion will have embodied the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals through their activity, seeking to achieve a better and more sustainable future for everyone.

Biggest impact on the city of Liverpool

Awarded to an individual or group who have gone above and beyond to positively impact the city of Liverpool in an extraordinary year; stepping beyond campus to affect change. A real student hero. The individual or group will have taken on volunteering opportunities to support those most affected by the pandemic in the city, gone above and beyond on their placements to support the NHS as student key workers, or supported key services throughout the pandemic.

Joint winners:

New society of the year

Awarded to a brand-new society that is already making an impact to their members. 

Fundraiser(s) of the year

Awarded to an individual or group who have made an outstanding contribution to Guild fundraising for UK-registered charities.

Society of the year

Awarded to an outstanding society, who has created a positive impact to the student experience, Guild and wider community.

Guild values award

Awarded to an individual or group who have embodied the Guild Values, creating something extraordinary in the face of adversity.

Joint winners:

HSC of the year

Awarded to a passionate and active Halls’ Student Committee who have gone above and beyond to make their fellow halls’ students feel at home and part of the community that they’re a part of. They’ll have run a range of excellent, inclusive, and engaging community-building events, helping others to make friends and get to know each other better.
