EVENT: University of Liverpool Industry-Chemistry Engagement Meeting

An event to showcase the University of Liverpool’s chemistry research, expertise and facilities to industry will take place in September.

The Industry-Chemistry Engagement Meeting (InChEM) is an opportunity to hear about the exciting research taking place in the University’s Department of Chemistry, tour cutting-edge facilities including the Materials Innovation Factory and the Stephenson Institute for Renewable Energy and explore collaborative opportunities.

InChEM will run from 8 – 9th September and both new and established collaborators are invited to attend.

The University’s Departmnent of Chemistry is recognised as a leading centre of excellence. In the most recent assessment of its research, it was ranked 3rd in the UK for outstanding (4*) research impact and 7th for research overall.

Research is organised into five closely interlinked research themes: Materials Chemistry; Chemistry of World Health; Energy and Functional Interfaces; Organic Synthesis and Catalysis; and Chemical Model.

Researchers have a well-established track record of working with industry to provide technological solutions and develop new products.

Dr Tom McDonald, Impact lead for the Department of Chemistry who is organising the event, said: “We are delighted that we can host InChEM again and invite industry to the Department. This is a great chance for companies to meet with researchers and see first-hand the research being conducted within our laboratories which we hope will showcase our capabilities and facilitate interactions. We welcome the opportunity to work with new partners and to further develop our programmes of activity with established collaborators.”
