Do you love meeting people from different cultures? Are you passionate about Liverpool City Region and your university?
Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, in partnership with the British Council, are currently looking for volunteers to work as Student Ambassadors. In this role you will welcome new international students to the city, and help them get to know the region as well as you do.
The role is unpaid, but volunteers will receive £10 per day towards expenses. You will need to have up to 10 days availability between late September and early November 2022. Your rota will mixture of half and full days, and will be designed to fit around studies or any other commitments.
This is a great opportunity to support new international students and gain hands on experience working in the cultural sector with institutions across Liverpool City Region.
You will also receive work references for future employment, and volunteers will have the chanced to gain free access to a variety of events and activities over the coming months.
The role:
- You will work directly with international students, staff and venues collating feedback to help evaluate the international student welcome
- You will be comfortable working with the public and working both indoors and outdoors at events
- You will have a good level of written and spoken English and good communication skills
Factors to consider:
- A significant portion of the international student cohort in the region is Chinese, however, students come to the region from all countries outside the UK who we are keen to engage in the programme.
- We want to encourage international students to explore the region and engage more with our cultural offer and the venues and locations involved in the programme
- You may still be required to wear a face mask for some indoor events unless you are exempt
