We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II following a lifetime of service. The announcement was made by Buckingham Palace this evening.
As a University community, we offer our sincere condolences to the Royal Family.
There will now be a national period of mourning and we are awaiting further guidance from our representative body, Universities UK (UUK), regarding how our daily operations may be affected over the coming days.
For the moment, University operations and essential services remain open and we will communicate with all students again via our email and news services with further detail regarding postponement of any activities.
We are also liaising with our local authority and other city partners and we will share all relevant information and guidance as we receive it.
