We are delighted to welcome 25 students from the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) scholarship scheme to the University this semester.
The group are part of this year’s Inbound Global Opportunities cohort of students studying abroad in Liverpool for a semester or a full year. As well as experiencing the world-class teaching from academics at the University, as part of their welcome, the students have already embarked on a number of cultural activities to help them settle into life in the UK, experience British culture and help them to make friends with other inbound students, as well UK students at the University.
Since arriving in Liverpool just over three weeks ago, the group have taken part in a wide range of activities from a Welcome Celebration, a Music and Film tour of the city, a classic Afternoon Tea experience and a trip to Alton Towers! Dave, one of the students, said: “Our long journey from Indonesia has been worth it. Everyone here is so friendly and nice. The city is amazing and the University has helped us adapt to the new environment we are in. We are so thankful for the resources and services offered to us. Liverpool is Boss La!”
The group are due to hold an event within the next month to celebrate Indonesian’s National Heroes Day, so make sure you follow the Global Opportunities Team across their social media channels @LivUniAbroad for more information.
