The University of Liverpool Management School’s MSc Finance programme has once again been recognised by the Financial Times (FT) and continues to be ranked in the ‘Top 55 FT Masters in Finance pre-experience’ alongside prominent business schools from the UK, France, China, and Spain.
The 2023 ranking lists the top pre-experience MSc Finance programmes globally. Information collected from all schools is given to the FT to calculate the rankings along with data from alumni, three years after graduation. The results are based on three core categories: alumni career progress, school diversity, and international experience, research and carbon footprint.
Similarly, to 2022 alumni career progress is central to the Management School’s placement in FT’s top 55 rankings. 71% of the most recent MSc Finance graduates who responded were employed within three months of finishing the programme, an increase from last year’s rankings. These graduates also saw a 27% increase in their salary between completing the programme in 2020 and today.
The support Management School students and graduates receive has been highlighted by the FT, both in the 2022 rankings and now 2023 rankings. The School’s in-house careers team has been ranked 34th overall for its effectiveness of career counselling, personal development, networking events, internship search and recruitment.
Additionally, the support provided by the School’s alumni network has been ranked 23rd overall which highlights the effectiveness of the alumni network for career opportunities, starting companies, gaining new ideas, recruiting staff and giving event information.
Diversity also played a role once more in this year’s FT Masters in Finance rankings which took into consideration the percentage of female faculty (43%), female students (33%), international faculty (65%) and international students (96%) within the Management School.
