Christmas is nearly upon us and there are plenty of events both at the University and in the city to get you into the festive spirit!

Science in the Snug: Schrodinger’s Santa: The Anti-Turkey Accelerator and the Entangled Santa Particle (ESP)

Over several years Professor Peter Myers has developed his theory to explain the existence of Santa and how he can deliver all the presents and eat and drink all the food that is left for him in the 24-hour period of Christmas Eve-Christmas Day.
Like all good theories this has changed from the original wave theory to a particle theory as new data has been collected and certain assumptions proven to be incorrect.

The Luna Winter Cinema

Get into the festive spirit by watching one of your favourite Christmas classics on the big screen! From December 14th Luna Cinema will be showing films such as Elf, Home Alone and Die Hard
Liverpool Christmas Markets
11am – 10pm, until 24 December / St George’s Plateau and William Brown Street
Liverpool’s Christmas markets return this year with festive food offerings, a carefully selected range of crafters and makers selling unique Christmas gifts, decorations, art, crafts and jewellery. There’s also a range of bars including the tipi bar, ski bar, windmill bar and the Bavarian bar.
Royal Albert Dock Festive Light trail
Until 22 December / Free
The Royal Albert Dock is one of the city’s most impressive spots but at Christmas becomes truly magical! This festive period, why not take a wander through its festive light trail, complete with over 1 million lights.
Afterwards, you can always head one of the dock’s many bars and restaurants to warm up with a hot chocolate or mulled wine.
