Staff, Students, and the General Public are invited to Professor Ian Copple’s Inaugural Lecture taking place on Wednesday, 31 January.
In this enlightening experience, Professor Copple from the Institute of Systems, Molecular and Integrative Biology will highlight the mechanisms used by the cells of the body to respond to various types of stress, particularly those caused by exposure to medicines and other chemicals. He will outline how his research group is investigating ways to exploit these stress response mechanisms to improve our ability to detect toxic medicines during their development, and to create new ways to treat disease.
Professor Copple will also outline his career journey to date and his future research goals linked to his recently awarded senior fellowship from the Medical Research Council.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 31 January at the Central Teaching Hub from 3.30pm – 4.30pm followed by a networking drinks reception.
