Sport Liverpool end of year round-up

Sport Liverpool BUCS

What a year in sport it has been for our AU clubs! We have seen many clubs be promoted, lift trophies, and make it to finals. We had our ninth Varsity win in a row against LJMU, with an amazing 28 of our teams winning their matches. We hope to make a decade long winning run in 2024/25!

Our Women’s Rugby Union 1s also had a fantastic season, going unbeaten in their league to win the Northern Tier 1 and achieve promotion. They were named National Champions and were also recognised as the RFU Outstanding Team of the Year award at their University Rugby Awards 2023/24.

5 teams lifted BUCS Conference Trophy/Cups; our Men’s Rugby Union 1s went unbeaten in their league, achieved promotion, and won the Northern Conference cup; and our Canoe Polo team brought home the big win at BUCS Canoe Polo!

Emil Bradley from Sport Liverpool said: “The amazing team successes this year have allowed us to finish in the Top 25 Universities that compete in BUCS. We are looking forward to next year to see our promoted teams compete in their new leagues, and seeing what all our teams will continue to achieve!”
