Writing for the Conversation – new sessions announced

Academics, researchers and PhD students who wish to reach new audiences, raise their media profile and inform public debate are invited to attend online sessions with The Conversation.

The Conversation is a news analysis and opinion website with content written by academics working with professional journalists. It is an open access, independent media charity funded by more than 90 UK and European universities. Working with an editor, researchers write short pieces that deliver academic expertise directly to the public.

To date, more than 370 University of Liverpool researchers have written 774 articles for the platform generating more than 17 million reads.

Articles published by The Conversation can be republished by major news outlets including the Guardian, BBC News, Washington Post, CNN amongst others.

If you wish to find out more about The Conversation, then sign up for an interactive workshop below.

If you are already familiar with The Conversation and have an idea for an article, then please book a One-to-One session to discuss your idea with an Editor.

These sessions will outline how The Conversation works, its origins and aims, the writing process and the benefits of writing for the public.

The Conversation editor will provide tips on style, tone and structure (with examples), look at how to pitch (with examples) and look at different approaches and article types.
