Wondering who can help you with specific issues as you settle into university? These useful contacts can help you with all aspects of uni life, from questions about your course through to wellbeing support and IT issues!

Accommodation and life in halls

Living in university accommodation is a big part of your experience as a student. Your welfare within halls is the responsibility of our Hall Wardens, assisted by Residential Advisers. Residential Advisers (RAs) live onsite and you can reach out to them for support and advice if you are having any problems. Besides offering advice and guidance, they have a dedicated phone number that you can call for out of hours support. You can find your RA’s contact details and duty phone number in your residential handbook, on posters in your kitchen and lift lobbies, as well as reception.

Student Services

Our Student Services are dedicated to supporting you throughout your time at Liverpool. You can find them in the Student Life centre in the Alsop Building on the main University Square. Made up of several teams, they can help no matter what issues you’re facing.

IT Services

The IT Service Desk is the first point of contact for any problems or queries you have which relate to University IT services and software. If you need assistance, please get in touch with the team via their portal, or by phone or online chat. Find out more about getting help from IT Services.

Library KnowHow

KnowHow is a free service for all University of Liverpool students. Through the service, you can access a range of workshopswebinars and online tutorials on understanding your current academic skillsnote takingtime management and more.

The team also offers one-to-one appointments with their Writing@Liverpool tutors for additional support with academic writing and Stats@Liverpool tutors for support with statistics.

Campus Support and Campus police officer

The Campus Support Team help keep campus a safe and secure place to live, study and work. The team can be contacted using the emergency number 0151 794 2222.

Campus Support also run a dedicated chaperone service on campus, that runs 24 hours a day. If you’re working late on campus or you feel vulnerable and would like to be escorted across campus at night, please call Campus Support at any time on 0151 794 3252.

The University also has a dedicated Police Officer – PC Andy Woolford – who works alongside our Campus Support Services team and can offer practical safety advice and support regarding any potential crime related issues. You can get in touch with Andy via email: a.woolford@liverpool.ac.uk.
