Professor Simon Jones, University of Liverpool’s Dean for XJTLU, welcomed new 2+2 students and congratulated scholarship recipients from Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University at a special event held in the Guild of Students earlier this month.
Established in 2006, Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University (XJTLU), delivers University of Liverpool degrees transnationally and offers the opportunity for students to articulate to Liverpool, either via a 2+2 or a 2+1+1 route. University of Liverpool students also have the opportunity to study at XJTLU through a flagship ‘Year in China’ programme as part of their degree.
The 2024 intake from XJTLU represents the 16th cohort of 2+2 students welcomed to Liverpool, with over 15,000 students articulating throughout the duration of the partnership.
Celebrating success
Every year the University awards the top performing students progressing from XJTLU with the ‘XJTLU Excellence Award’, a scholarship equating to a 25% reduction in tuition fees. During the welcome event, recipients’ success was celebrated.
The event also promoted the newly launched Move to Master’s programme, offered to all students from XJTLU, which provides students with an enhanced package of English language support, internship experiences and support for postgraduate applications.
Support services, including Careers and Employability, the English Language Centre, the Wellbeing team, the Admissions team and the Guild of Students were all present at the event to greet the new cohort of students.
