Liverpool Student Homes are hosting two Accommodation Fairs in this November to help you secure accredited student housing for the next academic year:
Tuesday 19 November, Liverpool Guild, Mountford Hall, 11am-3pm
Tuesday 26 November, JMSU, Student Life Building, 11am-3pm
Students from all institutions within the city are welcome to attend – please bring along your student ID.
It’s an opportunity for you to research your accommodation options for next year by browsing the stalls, chatting with some of our accredited accommodation providers and picking up some freebies.
You can take your time to have a look and there is no obligation or pressure to sign up for any tenancies. Remember, only start your search when you’re ready and always be 100% sure about the property before you sign a contract, as it is legally binding.
LSH only invite along accommodation providers who are accredited with them. By becoming part of an accreditation scheme, accommodation providers are demonstrating that they and their properties meet the quality and safety criteria detailed in the LSH Standards. Newly accredited properties are also inspected by our LSH Standards Officer.
- Don’t be pressured by friends or accommodation providers. Get to know your friends properly to make sure you’ll be happy living together for another year. Some landlords, agents or halls may encourage you to sign a tenancy straight away but don’t feel pressured – look at all of your options, you may find a better deal. If you are undecided or want more time to think, do what is right for you.
- View a range of properties and take your time. Seeing multiple properties will help you to understand the range that’s on offer, and help you to compare prices, facilities and the overall condition of different properties.
- Check rental prices carefully. Make sure you understand if bills are included, how many weeks the tenancy is for and how the rent on one property compares to others.
- Be sure before you sign a tenancy agreement (contract). A tenancy is a legally binding contract between you and your accommodation provider and are often not possible to exit once you’ve signed. Therefore, ensure you fully understand the terms and conditions of the contract before signing. If you need support, please contact Liverpool Student Homes.
