Vice-Chancellor appointed UUK International Policy Lead

University of Liverpool Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tim Jones, has been appointed the Policy Lead for International for Universities UK (UUK).

The Policy Lead for International chairs UUK’s International Policy Network and will be invited to chair UUKi’s annual Pro Vice-Chancellor (PVC) Forum, an event that brings together around 30 leaders to discuss strategic priorities.  The Policy Lead for International is also invited to participate in the UUKi HE Forum, UUKi’s flagship annual conference. Professor Jones may also be asked to deputise for the UUK President at statutory meetings of the European Universities Association (EUA).

Reacting to his appointment, Professor Tim Jones: “I consider it a huge honour to be elected as Policy Lead for International, which is such an important area for the sector. I’m looking forward to working collaboratively with both the elected Policy Leads and the diverse membership of UUK as we make progress towards our strategic ambitions.”

 Four Policy Leads have been elected to sit on the UUK board in the following areas:

– Funding and Regulation
– International
– Research and Innovation
– Student experience, education and skills

Professor Tim Jones will serve for 3 years in the Policy Lead role from 1 August 2025 to 31 July 2028.
