I am excited by the new initiatives at the Press, which includes its recently announced partnership with The British Academy’s prestigious and long-running academic publishing programme. I would particularly like to thank Professor Fiona Beveridge for being an exceptional Chair over the last decade. We all wish Fiona well with her retirement.’
Dr Matt Greenhall, said: ‘I am delighted to join the LUP board as a non-executive director. Our Libraries, Museums and Galleries have had a proud association with the press, and its mission to promote scholarly research, learning and culture. LUP is a long-time champion and leader in open access publishing, and I look forward to working with colleagues and fellow board members as it continues to develop and deliver innovative, sustainable and excellent publishing services into the future.”
LUP’s outgoing Chair, Professor Fiona Beveridge, commented: ‘”LUP is one of the University of Liverpool’s distinctive contributions to supporting scholarship, combining global engagement with a unique sense of place. It has been a privilege to Chair the Board while the Press has emerged as a leader among scholarly publishers serving the humanities.”
Chief Executive, Anthony Cond, added: “Fiona Beveridge has been an outstanding Chair of Liverpool University Press, and mentor to me, over the past decade. Her tenure has coincided with unprecedented growth and success for LUP. We are fortunate that Georgina Endfield, a brilliant scholar and a generous colleague, will step up to lead the Press’s Board of Directors, and that we will benefit from new non-executive director Matt Greenhall’s incisive knowledge of the library world as we look to find new ways to collaborate with the wider scholarly communication ecosystem. Working alongside our non-execs from the publishing industry and the executive members of the Board, Georgina and Matt will ensure that governance and leadership remains a key strength of Liverpool University Press.”
