LearnWell is a year old

The Academy is celebrating the first anniversary of LearnWell, the staff Learning Management System (LMS), which has transformed the way staff engage with professional development.

Launched in late August last year, the platform has given colleagues across the University simple, centralised access to a wide range of learning resources and development opportunities. Over the past 12 months, thousands of staff have logged in to explore courses, workshops, and online modules designed to support their growth.

One of the key benefits reported by staff is the flexibility that LearnWell provides. With development activities available at the click of a button, colleagues can now choose when and how they learn – whether that’s joining an in-person session, completing an e-learning module at their own pace, or exploring curated resources tailored to their role.

“Making development more accessible has been our main goal,” said Dr James Howard, Director of the Academy. “We want colleagues to feel empowered to take ownership of their learning journey, and LearnWell has given them the tools to do exactly that. ”

The system also makes it easier for staff and managers to track their progress and plan ahead. With personal dashboards, colleagues can view completed courses, register for upcoming sessions, and even set reminders to help stay on track.

As the University looks ahead, The Academy’s Organisational Development Team is continuing to expand LearnWell’s offering, introducing new modules, resources, and collaborative learning opportunities to ensure staff have everything they need to realise their full potential.
