Use eduroam wifi on a personal device? Here’s how to stay connected

Student using a mobile phone

We are asking all students who use the University’s eduroam Wi-Fi on your personal devices (phones, laptops, tablets) to take action to maintain your connection.

As part of our work to keep University systems secure, we’re updating the security certificate for eduroam Wi-Fi shortly. This update will prevent your personal devices from connecting to eduroam Wi-Fi unless you have re-installed the eduroam tool.

Required actions for all personal devices

Please complete the following steps to remain connected:

  1. Forget the current eduroam Wi-Fi connection (see device-specific guides below).
  2. Connect to GuestUoL, mobile data, or another secure network.
  3. Visit the eduroam Wi-Fi page and follow instructions to reinstall the Wi-Fi security certificate (CAT).
  4. Reconnect to eduroam.

Managed University devices will update automatically – you do not need to take any action.
