Use eduroam wifi on a personal device? Here’s how to stay connected

Student using a mobile phone

We are asking all students who use the University’s eduroam Wi-Fi on your personal devices (phones, laptops, tablets) to take action before Tuesday, 18 November to maintain your connection.

As part of our work to keep University systems secure, we’re updating the security certificate for eduroam Wi-Fi next week. This update will prevent your personal devices from connecting to eduroam Wi-Fi unless you have re-installed the eduroam tool.

Here’s what we need you to do. To continue using eduroam without interruption on your personal devices, you must install the eduroam setup tool (CAT tool) again before Tuesday, 18 November.

How to update your connection

  1. Visit our eduroam Wi-Fi page

– OR go directly to eduroam’s University of Liverpool page

2. Follow the instructions to install the eduroam tool again

Important: you must log in with your full email address: username@liverpool.ac.uk not just username.

If you don’t update your settings, your device won’t connect to University Wi-Fi after Tuesday, 18 November.

Managed University devices will update automatically – you do not need to take any action.
