Register for Pedagogic Research Conference on Thursday, 15 January

The 11th Annual Pedagogic Research Conference takes place online and in-person on Thursday, 15 January 2026.

The conference is open to all University of Liverpool and affiliated staff and students.

The conference theme is Postgraduate Pedagogies. Postgraduate students are an important part of our student community, bringing with them a wide range of experiences and perspectives and contributing to a vibrant learning environment.

Our Liverpool 2031 strategy includes ambitions around the postgraduate student experience: to re-imagine the Liverpool PhD to enhance the learning environment and experience for postgraduate researchers and to expand our portfolio of postgraduate taught programmes. The conference presents some of the exciting innovations and research projects focused on enhancing the postgraduate experience across the University and partner institutions.

Keynote speakers

We are very pleased to welcome our keynote speakers:

Kay Guccione, Head of Research Culture & Researcher Development and Co-director of the Lab for Academic Culture at the University of Glasgow will be talking about maximising development through a whole culture approach.

Sarah Qian Wang (PhD Supervisor) and Cheng Cui (PhD Student) Academy of Future Education, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University will be talking about Re-imagining Doctoral Supervision as empowerment Practices Through Power Negotiation.

The conference provides an exciting opportunity to collaborate, build networks and share emerging scholarship with peers from across the institution and beyond. This is a small and friendly conference open to all staff and students which focuses on presenting research and research ideas relating to teaching and learning.

Conference registration

Conference registration is now open. The conference will be hosted in 126 Mount Pleasant and we hope to see many of you there in person this year. We will be running the conference in a hybrid format, so do let us know when you book whether you will join us in person or online.
