Questions about your course
If you have administrative questions related to your course, your first point of contact should be your School’s Student Experience Office. A full list of offices is available on the School Office Contacts page.
Academic Adviser
Every student is assigned an Academic Adviser who can offer advice and guidance on academic matters. You can find your Adviser’s details by logging in to MyLiverpool. You’re encouraged to meet with them each semester, and you can also attend any drop-in sessions they offer if you need additional support.
Learning Teaching Support Officer
Each Faculty has Learning Teaching Support Officers who can provide advice, guidance, and support with wellbeing concerns. They can also help you navigate study-related processes, such as extenuating circumstances, and signpost you to specialist support services where needed.

Accommodation and life in halls
Living in university accommodation is a big part of your experience of university life. Your welfare in halls is overseen by Hall Wardens, supported by Residential Advisers (RAs).
RAs live onsite and are available to offer support and advice if you’re experiencing any issues. They also provide out-of-hours support via a dedicated phone number. You can find your RA’s contact details and duty phone number in your residential handbook, on posters in kitchen and lift lobbies, and at reception.
Student Services
Student Services are here to support you throughout your time at the University of Liverpool. They are based in the Student Life (previously Alsop) Building on University Square.
Made up of several specialist teams, Student Services can help with a wide range of issues, including:

- Disability Support
- Money Advice & Guidance
- Report + Support reporting tool
- Visa and immigration support
Library KnowHow
KnowHow is a free service available to all students. It offers workshops, webinars, and online tutorials covering academic skills such as note-taking, time management, and more.
You can also book one-to-one appointments for some extra help with:
- academic writing via their Writing@Liverpool tutors
- statistics with their Stats@Liverpool tutors
Careers and Employability Team
The Careers and Employability Team are here to help you prepare for your graduate career. Their support is built around three key themes: Explore, Connect, and Apply.
No matter where you are in your career thinking, the team are ready to support you. They are based in the Career Studio in the Foundation Building, open Monday to Friday, 10am–5pm. No appointment is needed, so you can drop in whenever it suits you.
IT Services
The IT Service Help Desk is your first point of contact for any issues or questions related to University IT services and software. You can contact the team via their online portal, by phone, or through online chat. More information is available on the IT Services help pages.
Campus Support and Police Officer
The Campus Support Team work to keep campus a safe and secure place to live, study, and work. In an emergency, they can be contacted on 0151 794 2222.
Campus Support also run a 24-hour chaperone service. If you’re working late or feel vulnerable and would like an escort across campus at night, you can call 0151 794 3252 at any time.
The University also has a dedicated Police Officer who works closely with Campus Support and can offer practical safety advice and support for crime-related concerns.
