We’re pleased to launch the Prosper Workshop Series 2026, a set of five career development workshops designed to help postdocs carve out dedicated time for their development, explore new possibilities, and connect with colleagues across the community.
You can register for any individual workshop; there’s no need to attend the whole series. Simply choose the sessions that align with your interests.
Across the series, participants will:
- Spend dedicated time reflecting on their career development
- Learn practical tools and strategies to move forward in any direction they wish to explore
- Network and share experiences with fellow postdocs
“Setting time aside to focus on career development and making it a priority – this is intrinsically linked to career enjoyment and success”, Prosper cohort member.
Online workshops run monthly from February to June and cover topics such as time management and prioritisation, idea generation and how to sell your skills. For the full schedule and to register visit LearnWell.
We encourage staff to share this opportunity with postdocs in their departments, teams and network. Find out more information about Prosper, or email prosper.postdoc@liverpool.ac.uk.
Prosper Practice Exchange
On 3 February 2026 we held the second Prosper Practice Exchange event in Birmingham. This event, open to those delivering postdoc career development across the sector, attracted registrations from 36 HEIs. This increase in breadth (10 more HEIs than last year’s event) reflects how Prosper has grown over the past year with now over 70 UK HEIs engaging with Prosper.
We heard valuable insights from colleagues across the sector on how they are engaging with the Prosper Exchange, including contributions from representatives from the universities of Edinburgh, Leeds and Lancaster University.
Speakers also showcased how Prosper resources have been embedded within their institutions, with contributions from colleagues from the universities of Dundee, Leicester, Liverpool and Manchester. Finally, a panel of postdocs and former postdocs shared the direct impact Prosper has had on their careers, from the universities of Liverpool, Manchester and Southampton.
“One of the best things for career development is to find your purpose – that driver for what you do”, former Prosper cohort member, University of Liverpool.
The day was full of discussions, sharing best practice and sparking inspiration. Participants were encouraged to consider ways they can contribute to keeping Prosper relevant and impactful. The event celebrated the successes so far and continued to strengthen our community of practice, ensuring Prosper’s impact continues to thrive.
