Whether you are staying with us on campus, or planning to travel during the spring break, we have lots of support on offer alongside all your favourite services. We’re here to let you know what is available, where you can access support, and things to think about before you travel internationally during the break.
International travel
There is still significant international travel disruption as a result of the conflict in the Middle East. This is affecting travel to and from the Middle East but also travel where the journey crosses air space over the Middle East or involves transfer at Middle Eastern airports.
Travel to, from and through the region is likely to remain at risk for some weeks to come. Students who are able to get flights should be aware that you may risk being unable to return to the UK should the situation continue or escalate. Please remember that you are expected to be on campus in the UK for all teaching and assessment, which continues after the spring break period.
As travel disruption at this time is foreseeable, bear in mind that you may not be able to claim Personal Extenuating Circumstances (PEC) in relation to missed or impacted assessments should your travel back to campus be disrupted by these issues. Student Route visa holders must be on campus to study as the conditions of visas will not allow remote study – this may mean students could be required to interrupt their studies.
Please consider this advice carefully when making plans. If you have any queries please discuss them with your School Office. If you do decide to travel or are already overseas and cannot return to the UK due to the conflict please email gulfdisruption@liverpool.ac.uk.
