Influential American poet and Pulitzer Prize winner, C K Williams will deliver the annual Kenneth Allott Lecture.
This year the lecture ‘On Being Old’ will be given in conjunction with the Poetry Society Annual Lecture in the Victoria Gallery & Museum.
Interspersed with dramatic new poems, his lively and provocative lecture aims to explore his changing relationship with the great poets of history – from Wyatt and Wordsworth, to Bishop, Auden and Lowell – engaging with the audience, whatever their age.
The event is on Thursday 13 October at 5pm and is free. Email jgaywood@liv.ac.uk to book your place.
Professor Miriam Allott founded the Allott lecture series in 1976 in memory of her husband, the poet, Kenneth Allott.
