Welcome’s not over yet – here’s what to look forward to

To help our new and returning students settle into campus life, there’s a whole range of activities and events are available over the next few weeks. They’re designed to help you make new friends and catch up with old ones, discover more about the city and campus, explore  your department, and most importantly, have some fun.

So, if you missed out on Welcome Week, don’t worry – there’s still plenty to get involved in!

Big Pub Quiz

Monday, 22 September and Monday, 29 September from 7pm-9pm, Mountford Hall

It’s time to get quizzical with the Guild’s weekly Big Pub Quiz!

Assemble your Quizteama Aguilera and get ready to test your knowledge with rounds hosted by Big Pub Quiz icon Che. Expect big rounds, quiz exclusive cocktails and food to fuel the fun.

Can you top the leaderboard and win our jackpot?

Tickets are £2 and doors open at 7pm.

Freshers Yoga @ the VG&M

Tuesday, 23 September, 10 – 11am

Bring your own yoga mat and join us for a gentle yoga session in the unique setting of your very own university museum – the perfect way to relax, recharge, and meet new people in a beautiful and peaceful space.

Free event–  book your free tickets and bring your student ID and yoga mat with you. 

Get to know your Libraries

Every weekday until Friday, 26 September 2025, between 11am – 5pm

These tours will show you all you need to get started in the Library including:

  • How to get help
  • How to borrow books and laptops, and how to print
  • Where to study and where to find the books (Your books may be in several different locations so you may not see your subject books on this tour)

Harold Cohen Library has the Faculty of Health & Life Sciences and the Faculty of Science & Engineering collections.

Sydney Jones Library has the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, Psychology, Geography & Planning collections as well as Special Collections & Archives.

Liverpool Guild’s Know Your City: City Walking Tour

Saturday, 27 September, 1pm – 4pm

Join us for an afternoon exploring everyone’s favourite city: Liverpool! (Promise we’re only slightly biased).

Discover your new fav spots in the city, spot the iconic and historic landmarks and learn a little more about your home away from home. Explore Liverpool at its finest with this fun and interactive walking tour!

This tour will take approximately 3 hours, so make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes that you can walk a long way in (your feet will thank you later!)

Part-time Jobs Fair

Tuesday, 30 September, from 11am – 2pm, Mountford Hall

On the lookout for some part-time work? Our jobs fair will showcase on-campus and local opportunities, with jobs at the University plus other employers including Liverpool Football Club as well as bars, hotels, tutoring, and at the Guild. Career Coaches will also be there to help you identify opportunities suitable for you and explain how careers can help you throughout your time at the University.

Global Opportunities Fair (part of Global Opportunities Week)

Global Opportunities give you the chance to work, volunteer or study abroad during your Liverpool degree. With opportunities all over the world to go abroad for a summer, semester or even a full academic year, there really is something for everyone.
