
Friday, 10 October is World Mental Health Day, and to mark this, we are inviting staff to attend a dedicated online Mental Health Awareness session, delivered by the University’s Disability and Wellbeing Advisor.
The session takes place on Friday, 10 October, from 11am – 12pm via Zoom.
This sessions will help you to:
- Recognise the early signs of deteriorating mental health
- Understand the impact of workplace stigma
- Develop confidence in having supportive conversations with colleagues, friends, or family
- Learn practical self-care strategies and ways to build resilience
- Explore how to promote a positive workplace culture
- Gain awareness of support pathways, including those available within the University

World Mental Health Day 2025
This year’s theme is “It is time to prioritise mental health in the workplace”, highlighting the vital role of working environments in shaping wellbeing. Many of us spend most of our waking hours at work, and the culture, environment, and support we experience can have a profound effect on mental health.

Our EAP, provided by HealthHero, is a free and confidential service offering 24/7 access to telephone or online counselling, plus information and guidance to help with personal or work-related challenges.
