The University of Liverpool hosted its annual XJTLU Welcome event on Thursday, 1 October 2026, welcoming Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) 2+2 students to the city.
The event was hosted by the Liverpool-based International Recruitment Partnership Team, with 470 students attending on the night. The evening, which opened with a welcome talk by Professor Gita Sedghi, provided an opportunity for students to connect with each other and learn about what’s avaiable to them to enrich their time in Liverpool, including support from Student Services, Careers & Employability and the Guild of Students. The event concluded with a celebration of students’ achievements, with presentations of the XJTLU Vice-Chancellor’s Merit Scholarships, LivSurf awards, and Dean’s List honors, getting their time at Liverpool off to a flying start.
