The webcast for the Living with Environmental Change (LWEC) Research Theme event is now live.
Health Challenges in a Changing World was organised and funded by the University’s Living with Environmental Change research theme and showcased some of the challenges to our future health, and revealed how new research is helping us deal with them.
Speakers from across the three faculties gave presentations, which also included a talk and question and answer session by former President of the Royal Society, Lord May of Oxford and the former Chief Executive of the Medical Research Council Professor Colin Blakemore.
Professor Matthew Baylis, from the Institute of Infection and Global Health, said: “It was a really well received event with comments from many of the speakers about how pleased they were with the emphasis on cross-curricular collaboration. Many guests too, including health professionals, embraced and stressed the importance of the cross-faculty/subject approach.”
