Summer holiday activities at the VG&M

Lots of activities to keep little ones entertained are taking place at the VG&M

The Victoria Gallery & Museum (VG&M) will be running a number of arts and crafts workshops for children and families during the summer holidays.

Every Thursday afternoon during August the VG&M will be holding a craft-related session based around a different theme.

On Thursday, 1 August, visitors are invited take part in a bug-related craft activity when real live insects from Knowsley Safari Park will be visiting.

On Thursday, 8 August, the VG&M will host an Egyptian-themed session when visitors will be able to handle real Egyptian artefacts and  take part in an Egyptian-inspired craft activity and an archaeological dig.

The session on Thursday, 15 August will use JMW Turner’s ‘Eruption of Le Soufrieré’ as inspiration and visitors will create their own 3-D volcano.

Textile artist, Tina Leahey, will host the workshop on 22 August when participants will use recycled materials to make a Victorian peg doll

The final summer holiday workshop on 29 August will be led by Liverpool Art Prize-winner, Tabitha Moses, who will show participants how to make Chinese-inspired wall decorations.

All of the activities are free and open to the public.  No booking is required and all of the workshops are drop-in events between 1 and 4pm.
