The 2015 Complete University Guide has placed the University 31st in its annual ranking, which is a rise of seven places compared with last year.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Howard Newby, said: “The increase in our position in this important ranking reflects our significant investment in the student experience at Liverpool.
“We are investing £600 million in facilities, which includes a £10 million refurbishment of the Guild of Students and new student accommodation at the heart of campus.”
The University of Cambridge is again the UK’s leading university, followed by the University of Oxford in second place in the ranking, with the London School of Economics and Political Science third.
Student satisfaction
The Complete University Guide uses nine indicators including student satisfaction, research, grades and graduate prospects to compare 123 UK universities.
University of Liverpool subjects that are listed in the top 10 in the subject tables include: Geology; Materials Technology; Building; Architecture; Nursing; Ophthalmics; Physiotherapy; and Veterinary Science.
