The University of Liverpool is hosting a special series of interactive events at World Museum Liverpool aimed at a family audience which demonstrate the global impact of health research through fun activities and demonstrations
The autumn season of events begins on Saturday, 1 October with ‘Build-A-Body’ exploring what animal and human bodies are made of; from the tiniest of cells all the way up to our skeleton and muscles, and how they take us from birth to old age.
The event will be followed in November by ‘Marvellous Medicines’, which will show visitors where our medicines come from, ways we can treat illnesses and stay healthy and what the marvellous medicines of the future might look like.
Fantastic opportunity
Laura Winters, Faculty of Health and Life Sciences Public Engagement Officer , said: “We are looking forward to the launch of our new season of events at the Liverpool World Museum. These events provide us with a fantastic opportunity to showcase some of our work in an exciting and interesting way to the public.”
The New Year winter season will start with ‘Brainiacs’, which will allow visitors to explore their minds to see how we think, feel and learn. Discovering how our brains work, what can go wrong and how it might be fixed.
Penny Arque, World Museum, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for our visitors to discover the very latest research in a fun way and we are delighted to be working with scientists from the University of Liverpool.”
Events are free and take place on the dates below, from 10.00am to 4.00pm at the World Museum Liverpool.
