Liverpool International College celebrates 10 years

This year, Liverpool International College (LIC) celebrates 10 years of preparing students from around the world for university and participation in a globalised world.

When the college opened its doors in September 2007, the first cohort numbered 146 students. Over the decade, 6,500+ students from almost 100 nationalities have studied at the College. This year, 915 students from 52 countries are studying at LIC.

LIC is one of the largest embedded colleges in the UK, offering pathway courses in partnership with the University.

The University has renewed its cooperation agreement with its LIC partner – Kaplan – which is now investing in new purpose built facilities at Paddington Village, part of the Knowledge Quarter. The 10-year anniversary celebrations will culminate in the ground-breaking ceremony for the new building.

Other celebrations to mark the anniversary will involve events and initiatives for staff, students and alumni from the College and the University throughout the year. LIC students recently supported the University’s Open House Family Day and also marked the 10th anniversary with a street party, opened by Assistant Mayor and Mayoral Lead for Business and International Trade, Gary Millar.

More information about the 10th Anniversary of the College and stories of graduates from across the 10 years can be found here.
