University of Liverpool rises in Times Higher Education Europe Teaching Rankings

The University of Liverpool has risen 10 places in the Times Higher Education Europe Teaching Rankings 2019.

In this second edition of the rankings, Liverpool is 27th, up from 37th in 2018. Liverpool moves up four places in the Russell Group to 18th, ahead of Leeds (30th), Durham (32nd), Cardiff (37th), Southampton (48th), Birmingham (51-75), and Queen’s Belfast (51-75).

The UK holds 17 of the top 20 places and 99 positions overall. The University of Oxford is number one.

Data is captured through a European survey of students, carried out in partnership with market research provider Streetbees. The rankings focus on the teaching and learning environment for students. 14 elements feed 4 overarching areas: Engagement, Resources, Outcomes, and Environment. Quality of Service and Skills Development are also taken into account.
