The University’s joint venture institution, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) in China, is celebrating its fourth anniversary.

Established 2006, XJTLU in Suzhou now has 2,500 students. Students registering at XJTLU have various options for study available to them, including transferring to Liverpool to complete their degree. The first 130 XJTLU students will graduate this summer.

Professor Youmin Xi, Executive President of XJTLU, said: “In four years, the University has gained a high profile across China and it is astonishing how fast the institution is expanding. Our vision is to become a research-led international university in China, with unique features in teaching and learning, research, social service, education and management philosophy.

“We live in a fast-changing China, full of hope, at a time when people have great expectations of Higher Education. In Suzhou we have created an environment for our staff and students which is of equal opportunity, is competitive with a friendly spirit, and is caring and humane.”
