ULWC donation

The University of Liverpool Women’s Club (ULWC) has made a donation of £500 to Special Collections and Archives to preserve the group’s historical records and photographs.

Chairman of the Committee, Janet Goddard, said: “The committee was made aware of the archives of the ULWC not being complete after committee member Anne Clough published Ladies Wore Hats, a history of the ULWC, and was frustrated by the lack of crucial records, documents and photographs from pre-1927.”

The committee was saddened to report that a valued committee member, Josephine Zilberkweit, has lost her battle with cancer. Josephine was responsible for publicity of the Women’s Club and will be missed by all who knew her.

As a result, all surviving records were deposited in the archives and material continues to be consigned there for future reference.
