The Executive President of Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTJU), the University’s Chinese partner institution, has visited campus.

Professor Youmin Xi met with senior staff and academic colleagues from departments with existing and developing links to XJTLU in order to discuss the programmes that are available as part of the agreement between the two universities, which permits XJTLU students to transfer to Liverpool for the final two years of an their undergraduate degree.

He also met with a group of students who are currently studying the final two years of their degree.

Following the scandal involving LSE and the donation from Saif Gaddafi, I wonder how UoL would respond to a potential student demonstration on the XJTLU campus and any disproportionate counter-response from the Chinese Government? Would it support the students or the Government? The fallout from this scenario, which is entirely plausible, would make the LSE scandal look like a storm in a teacup.
