Matthew Clough: “Detailed composition, underpinned by a highly textured paint surface”

`A Shared Space’ by Christine Watson is the latest exhibition in the On The Red Wall series at the Victoria Gallery & Museum.

The exhibition features nine  paintings which explore light, space, density and texture.

Matthew Clough, Director of the Victoria Gallery & Museum, said: “Christine has produced some fascinating images which initially appear simplified but closer inspection reveals their detailed composition, underpinned by a highly textured paint surface .”

Christine studied at Birmingham Institute of Art & Design and the Royal College of Art, She was born in Wirral and currently lives in Chester.

The exhibition features nine paintings exploring light, space, density and texture

`On the Red wall’ is a series of informal displays of work by local and regional artists. It provides an opportunity for emerging artists to showcase their work and for established artists to develop aspects of their practice through a small group of work.

‘A Shared Space’ is on display until October 27 2012
