Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Howard Newby joins Alison, rowing medallist at the 2004 Athens Games; Chika, who picked up his bronze medal in tae kwon do; Lady Sheila Newby and Matthew , who graduated with a Bsc in Movement Science and Physical Education in 1992


The £4.5million investment enhanced the pool and changing facilities, doubled the size of the fitness area and supported an integrated weight training facility and dance studio


The Olympic Torch passed through campus on its way to London for the 2012 Olympics


Andy Craig and Alison in the significantly rejuvenated gym area. Alison joined the University rowing team while studying for a BSc in Microbial Biotechnology, making the national side by 1997 before Olympic glory beckoned in Athens
