Two pupils from local schools, who worked with mentors at the University, made it to the final of the national Science and Engineering Big Bang Event in London.

Julian Toh, a sixth form student from Liverpool College, who worked at the Institute of Infection and Global Health on the Nuffield Foundation Scholarship Scheme, was awarded the Crest prize for Real World Context.

St Edward’s College student Caroline Peters, who worked with the Department of Eye & Vision Science in the Institute of Ageing and Chronic Disease, was selected to represent the UK at the International Youth Science seminar in Stockholm later in the year following her work on age-related disease.
