Jessie, Allen and Lydia are looking forward to ‘big’ school in September

Prior to starting ‘big’ school in September, 12 children celebrated the end of their time at the University of Liverpool’s Children’s Centre with their own graduation.

The occasion is a calendar highlight for the Children’s Centre with a special celebratory ceremony for the children and their parents to enjoy.

At the graduation ceremony the young pupils – complete with mini cap and gown – each received a trophy, a certificate, a medal, a memory book and a bag featuring their personal drawings.

Dressed in their caps and gowns, the youngsters hope to one day emulate all those successfully graduating this week

The event was an emotional day for the nursery staff as Deputy Manager, Colette Fairhurst, said: “This is always a day of mixed emotions for staff; we don’t want the children to leave but we are also proud to be sending them off to begin their school lives in September, knowing we have successfully prepared them for this new era.

“It has been a privilege to care for each and every one of them and we all wish them a happy and healthy future and look forward to seeing them return for play scheme during school holidays.”

It’s the end of another era at the University’s Children’s Centre
