The Pain Relief Foundation, based at University Hospital Aintree, has announced a PhD Studentship and grants to fund research on the mechanisms and/or relief of human chronic pain.
The Prize PhD Studentship will enable a young graduate to embark on a research career in human chronic pain. The three-year award will provide tuition fees totalling £18,000 each year, together with a small budget to cover consumables.
The research grants may be in respect of projects or salaries, but equipment will not be funded. Grants previously awarded have varied, rising to £30,000. Applications from early career researchers are particularly encouraged.
The grants may be held in the Pain Relief Foundations’ Pain Research Institute in Liverpool, or at other approved centres.
