Finance in the spotlight for National Student Money Week

Staff are being encouraged to signpost students to activities taking place as part of National Student Money Week.

The week, which kicks off a month long campaign, features a series of activities which have been organised to raise awareness of what financial support is available and where students can access advice and guidance.

Student Wealth Checks

The Financial Support Team will be offering ‘student wealth checks’ for the whole month. Every 10th person to attend will receive a voucher worth £10. Current students are being encouraged to take along evidence of income (student funding/benefits) and expenditure to the sessions to make sure they’re receiving everything they’re entitled to.

A competition has also been organised in the Student Services Centre to gather suggestions for a cheap Valentines night out or value gift ideas. Freebees are on offer for all students on campus who pop in and the winning idea will receive a prize.

For potential students, the Student Recruitment and Admissions Office has published a Student Finance Information Booklet. Packed with helpful tips and information to unpick the complicated world of student finance, the guide is sent to all undergraduate Home and EU offer holders.

Offer holders have also been invited to a Student Finance webinar on Thursday, 13 February at 6pm. Potential students will be able to find out all they need to know about the student finance system from our experts, and hear from current students about how they manage their student budget.

The activity forms part of the recruitment ‘conversion campaign’ for 2014 entry – an integrated campaign across web, direct mail, email, social media, print and events, based around themed months from February to August. The conversion campaign aims to encourage applicants to make Liverpool their first choice.
